Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a clemency request for consideration by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is working on the commutation application. They also stated she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, stated in a news release that the facility's chief was “helping” Maxwell with document preparation and submission to support her bid for executive mercy.

Specific details of the “commutation application” are unclear, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are hand-delivered to her living area, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” private meetings for her and her visitors.

The visits reportedly involve a designated private space for visitors and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also reportedly permitted to carry electronic devices, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other inmates, she was provided directions about who she should tell her associates to call and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she reportedly employed the warden as her private aide.

The news release states that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to the inmate, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Reported

Further perks allegedly granted to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a perk typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the spokesperson noted.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that she told friends and family in emails from prison that she was more content at the Texas facility than her former location.

In August, Maxwell was transferred from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most inmates are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as the President's private attorney.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid widespread conjecture around Trump's own connections to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, the congressman also announced that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the chief executive to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” the representative stated in the letter. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also posed three questions to the President.

He inquired whether he had discussed a possible clemency for the convict with the official or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or special conditions in detention, and whether she, her lawyers, relatives or agents have made any commitments to Trump or his legal team.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the questions by 24 November.

In October, the US supreme court declined to hear an petition from Maxwell on her trafficking verdict.
