I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

As the two fighters met for the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
